How to measure
Distance: click in order to draw a polyline, then double-click or press Finish. Segment lengths and the total are labelled on the globe.
Area: click in order to draw a closed polygon. Square metres, square kilometres, and hectares are shown.
Angle: click three points; the second point is the vertex. The included angle and both bearings (clockwise from north) are shown.
How accurate is this map distance tool?
Lengths use a WGS84 geodesic approximation (Turf). They are for checking and learning, not licensed surveying, construction layout, or turn-by-turn road mileage.
Is this straight-line or driving distance?
Distance follows the polyline you click: geodesic segments between points, not routing along roads.
Which area units are shown?
Closed polygons show square metres, plus square kilometres and hectares. This English page can switch to feet, miles, and acres.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Points and calculations stay in the browser. You can copy or download GeoJSON.
How is this different from the map coordinate picker?
